Junior Summer Volleyball Camp 2025 – A Huge Success!

Our first ever 3-day Summer Volleyball Camp for juniors (U14–U18) was a fantastic success, bringing together energy, hard work, and a true love for the game.

Day 1 kicked off with a strong start as players trained for four solid hours, focusing on fundamentals like passing and footwork. The energy was high, and the progress was clear right from the start.

Day 2 built on that momentum, with sessions centred on communication and gameplay. A highlight was the introduction to sitting volleyball, led by coach @ben_strange1, giving players a fresh perspective on teamwork and adaptability.

Day 3 took us on an exciting trip to Winchester, where our juniors faced off against @wincheaglesvolleyball in a friendly match. With four thrilling sets full of rallies, passion, and teamwork, it was the perfect way to showcase everything learned over the camp.

A huge thank you to:
Justin for hosting us at the incredible @winchestercollege Sports Centre.
@_nuel.ea and @ben_strange1, our dedicated volunteer coaches, for guiding and supporting our players.
Most importantly, to our junior athletes (U14–U18) for your commitment, enthusiasm, and hard work throughout the camp.

We couldn’t be prouder of what was achieved over these three days, and we’re already looking forward to the next camp. The future of junior volleyball is looking bright!

We were delighted to see our young coach, Ben Strange, deliver an engaging volleyball session at Warblington School’s Sports Day in Havant. It was a fantastic opportunity to introduce students to the sport and share the energy and fun that volleyball brings.

A big thank you goes to J. Matthews and Becky for the kind invitation and for welcoming us into the school community.

A Season of Milestones: Men’s Promotion & Women’s Growth

What an incredible first year it has been for our club! We are thrilled to announce that our Men’s Team has been crowned champions of the HVA Division 2 league, securing promotion into Division 1 for the 2025/26 season. For a club that is just about a year old, this achievement is nothing short of remarkable. We couldn’t be prouder of the team’s hard work, determination, and passion, and we can’t wait to see them take on the challenge of Division 1 come October 2025.

On the other side, our Ladies’ Team wrapped up their debut season in the HVA Women’s Division. Finishing at the bottom of the table may not have been the dream result, but for a brand-new team of players, it marks only the beginning of their journey. With experience under their belt and strong foundations in place, there is only one way forward for them next season, and that’s up!

As a young club, both of these stories highlight our spirit: success, resilience, and growth. We look forward to building on these achievements together as one community.

Earning a place in Division 1 marks an exciting new chapter, and we look forward to competing at the higher level when the new season begins in October 2025.

Breaking Barriers in Sport and Education for Girls and Women

Last Friday (21 March 2025), our club had the privilege of attending an inspiring event in Portsmouth focused on the theme “Breaking Barriers in Sport and Education for Girls and Women.”

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Stephen Morgan MP and Sam (#HeardAboutSam) for the kind invitation and for championing such an important cause.

Representing our club, Social Media Coordinator, Sade Aniemeka , and Welfare Officer, Jaz Loonan, joined thought-provoking discussions alongside community leaders, advocates, and change-makers. The event highlighted the importance of creating equal opportunities, amplifying women’s voices, and empowering the next generation of girls through both sport and education.

It was an honour to be part of a conversation that continues to challenge barriers and celebrate progress toward inclusivity and equality.

Friendly Matches Against the Navy Teams

On Sunday, 24 February, we had the pleasure of hosting the Navy men’s and women’s teams for a friendly game, the second time we’ve had the opportunity to play both teams as part of our ongoing efforts to promote sports within our community.

It was an exciting day on and off the court, providing a fantastic opportunity for some of our junior players to take part in the friendly matches alongside our men’s and women’s teams. The experience allowed them to gain valuable exposure and learn from competing.

In the men’s match, the Navy team secured a 3-1 victory, while our women’s team triumphed over their Navy counterparts with a 3-1 win. The matches were competitive yet friendly, reflecting the true spirit of sportsmanship.

Many thanks to all our supporters, participants, and everyone who contributed to making the day a success.

We look forward to many more opportunities to engage, compete, and grow together on the court!
