A Day of Growth at the 2nd HVA Ladies GP

Today at the 2nd HVA Grand Prix, our women’s team faced tough challenges, competing against Solent Phoenix, Winchester Ladies, and Southampton Academy.

Despite losing all three games, the day was full of great individual and team moments.

Many of our players stepped onto the court for the very first or second time in a competitive fixture, showing immense courage and determination. It was inspiring to see everyone giving their best, adapting to challenges, and supporting each other on and off the court.

We know building a new team takes time, and today’s efforts reaffirmed our belief in the process.

Thank you to all the players for your commitment, energy, and sacrifices. Let’s keep training hard and growing together as we prepare for our next fixture on January 26th. Here’s the HVA Ladies League table.

Great work today, team onwards and upwards!

Tough Battle in VE National Shield Competition 2nd Round for Phoenix Men

The 2nd round of the VE National Shield Competition was a challenging encounter for our Phoenix Men’s team, as they faced the formidable Coventry & Riga, a well established NVL Division 2 side.

Missing three key players, the match presented an opportunity to test our depth, with junior and development players stepping up to gain invaluable experience.

Despite their determination, the team fell short, losing 0-3 in straight sets. The match highlighted the high level of play required at this stage, giving our squad a clear sense of what to expect as we prepare for next season.

While the result wasn’t in our favour, the game was an excellent learning experience for the lads, and we’re proud of their effort and resilience.

A big congratulations to Coventry & Riga on their victory wishing them all the best for the rest of the competition!

Looking ahead, we’ll take this as motivation to keep building and improving. Go Pompey Phoenix!
